Wow, I feel like I’ve been here for an entire week, but I’ve barely been here four days. Craziness! So did anyone get some wind and rain from Miss Fay? I heard that people in Melbourne got out their kayaks. That’s definitely looking on the bright side. I almost bought a skim board today…there was enough of water current going down the sidewalks to send you flying pretty quickly. I managed to half-way soak one set of clothes and totally soak another. Two friends and I were walking to our cars from a dorm and we were so wet as it was we just stood there in the pouring down rain and wind to finish our conversation which lasted about 10 minutes. I guess it didn’t phase us by that point.
I really like the rain, but I’m ready for the sun to come out!
Today was a really cool day. Advised some musical theater guys this morning in college of music. It was my first time advising by myself and thankfully, despite some forgetful moments, I signed them up for the appropriate classes. My best viola friend and I had lunch together and then hit the practice rooms. It’s always fun to get a practice room near a friend so that you can go out to the hall way and chat (aka avoid practicing), but it’s always fun to collaborate. Usually she and I end up jamming with one of us on keys and the other on vocals…sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s a disaster, but always a good laugh.
Tonight CCF had a house FULL of students for chik-fil-a dinner and fellowship. After dinner we walked to Cawthon Hall and had another load of people hang out in the lobby. Drank coffee, ate deserts, some guitarists, pianists, violinists, and trombonists whipped out their skills and played a few tunes to serenade us. Food was provided by Crossbridge Christian Church, and overall I met a lot of cool people and got to have some neat conversations with some of them. I’m praying that I’ll remember all their names, in fact I should go ahead and write them down. You would be surprised by the impact of remembering someone’s name. I’ve talked to several students who said that the reason they got plugged into a church or to a ministry is due to the fact that someone actually called them by name. Isn’t that crazy??? It’s such a small thing, but especially to someone who doesn’t know the Lord, it could be the deciding factor. It’s a lot of pressure. I mean we can’t remember everything….but man, after hearing people say that, I really am praying for my memory to stay strong.
Stay dry!

My grandparents live in Melbourne. Well, palm Bay, but they’re right next to each other. I spoke to them yesterday, and they confirmed that things are very wet and that a lot of damage has been done. And that sucks ’cause Melbourne and Palm Bay are mostly senior citizens, so they can’t do too much. =/
Glad you had fun though. Keep us updated! =]
